Overview
The firm is the perfect size for personal client service. Our clients are more than file numbers and because we know each of them, we know how to get the results that are best for them.
Michael Cerniglia joined King & Jurgens in April 2008, and focuses primarily on maritime, oil and gas, environmental, toxic tort, and commercial litigation matters.
In the realm of maritime law, Michael has handled several Jones Act cases, and has experience with matters involving the interplay of the Jones Act, the general maritime law, and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act (LHWCA).
On environmental matters, he has handled matters involving contamination of property, environmental issue resolution, and general oil and gas disputes. He believes the firm's environmental team is especially advanced, stating "To have a leading attorney with so much working knowledge of environmental issues and effect is exceptionally rare. You can't put a price on that."
Michael was born in Metairie, Louisiana, and graduated from the University of New Orleans with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and an M.B.A. with a finance concentration. After earning his Master of Business Administration, Michael practiced as a financial advisor while attending law school, graduating from Loyola University School of Law in 2005.
