Bercaw to Speak on Decommissioning in the Offshore Oil and Gas Sector
Jim Bercaw will speak on September 25 at the International Bar Association’s Annual Conference in Seoul, South Korea. He will be the sole U.S. representative on a panel discussing “Legal Challenges of Decommissioning in the Offshore Oil and Gas Sector,” presented by the IBA’s Maritime and Transport Law Committee. The panel will present a comparative overview of decommissioning obligations in the USA, Brazil, Nigeria and the UK/North Sea, examine how offshore assets get decommissioned and what problems the industry faces, and discuss contracts and other issues.
Jim is a Member in King & Jurgens’ New Orleans office with over 20 years of handling a wide array of legal matters, including offshore and maritime casualty litigation, insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
